Gaynor describes the book as a collaborative response to “our difficult national situation” – all profits from the sale of the book are being donated to the American Civil Liberties Union, an organisation that defends the rights established in the US constitution.

Our journey took longer than expected
due to stops both scheduled and un-

As well as the poems, this collection includes a foreword by the author Nola Saint James, an introduction by constitutional lawyer Michael E. Tigar, and an afterword by David Bergman, poetry editor of the Gay and Lesbian Review.
